The PSEG LI Problem

PSEG LI Rates Keep Rising. Solar Locks Yours In.

Long Island homeowners pay some of the highest electricity rates in the country, and PSEG LI has raised them again. Every year you wait, that bill climbs. A right-sized GreenLogic solar system offsets your usage, drops your monthly bill toward zero, and fixes your energy cost for the next 25 to 40 years. Once the system is paid off, the power is effectively free.

FAQs

Long Island Solar FAQ

The questions we hear most often from Suffolk and Nassau County homeowners.

For most Long Island homeowners, yes. PSEG LI rates are among the highest in the country and keep rising, so the bill offset is larger here than in most states. Combined with the NY State Solar Tax Credit, net metering, and a full property tax exemption on the added value, a right-sized system typically pays for itself well within its 40-year warranty and keeps saving long after.

Cost depends on your roof, your usage, and the system size needed to offset your PSEG LI bill. Rather than a generic estimate, we build a detailed quote around your actual electric bill and roof. Your free consultation includes real numbers, with all NY State incentives and financing already applied.

Yes. Panels run on daylight, not heat, and they often produce efficiently in cold, clear Long Island winters. Output dips on heavily overcast days, but net metering covers the gap. Excess summer production banks credits with PSEG LI that offset your lower winter months.

Long Island homeowners can still claim the NY State Solar Tax Credit worth 25% of system cost up to $5,000, plus PSEG LI net metering and a full property tax exemption on the value solar adds to your home. Zero down financing is also available. Note that the federal residential tax credit ended for systems placed in service after December 31, 2025, so New York programs now carry the return.

Most projects run 8 to 10 weeks from the first call to power on. The on roof install itself usually takes two to three days. The rest is permitting and PSEG LI interconnection, which we manage from start to finish.

Most Long Island roofs range from North Shore colonials to South Fork cottages. Age, pitch, shading, and orientation all factor in, and our engineers assess every one during your free site audit. If your roof is not a fit today, we will tell you straight.

Your solar system adds value and transfers with the home. Studies consistently show solar-equipped homes sell faster and for more. We provide the documentation buyers and appraisers ask for.
